Methodology
How the data is gathered, cleaned, and checked before it is published.

Gather
Source data is pulled from OpenStreetMap, public sources, and city or partner contributions.

Clean
Records are standardised against a consistent typology and checked for duplicates, gaps, and inconsistencies.

Check
Cleaned data is validated against known references before it is published or refreshed.

Publish
The dataset is released openly, with the methodology and licence documented alongside it.
Licence and reuse
The data and the explorer are open to everyone. Cycling infrastructure data derived from OpenStreetMap is released under the Open Database Licence (ODbL), which requires share-alike attribution on derivative works. Where a dataset draws on other sources, the licence for that dataset is documented alongside it above.

Updates
A dated log of every addition and refresh. The data stays maintained, rather than delivered once and abandoned.
